Prerequisites
Icebreakers was designed to be compatible with ALL STYLES. This can be kickboxing, Karate, Muay Thai or maybe you come from an MMA school with no clear striking base. This guide was created to allow you to do your thing.
The course was specifically made for martial artists and combat athletes with experience levels ranging from 6 months to 2 years. This is a fairly wide range, but every student is different and every school is different, so a year for you at your gym will be different than a year for me at mine.
The only hard requirement for this course is that your training includes sparring. This is a sparring guide.
To get the most out of this course:
-You should know how to throw a basic jab, cross, hooks, uppercuts, round kicks and front kicks.
-You should be training fairly regularly: at least twice a week. Training less is perfectly fine, but progress in this course requires you to be very proactive and in control.
-You should be willing to temporarily set aside trickery, jumping, spinning, extremely dynamic movement etc... This is a guide on how to work the jab and land pretty regular shit. If you can work your jab and land regular shit reliably, your ability to land flashier and more complex techniques will improve significantly.
